The Fierce Teaser Trailer From Dawn Of The Planet Of Apes (Jul 2014)

Dawn of The Planet Of The Apes
After the success of 2011 reboot, Rise Of The Planet Of Apes, the much anticipated sequel, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes has finally released its first teaser trailer and it looks FIERCE.

A brand new team is taking on the project, with the new director, Matt Reeves (whom last brought to us the horror remake of Let Me In) and starring Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis and Jason Clarke. However, the story seems to be directly connected with the first installment. Short synopsis of the movie (source : IMDB.com) :

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Dawn Of The Planet Of Apes will be released in 3D on 11st July 2014. Now, keep reading to enjoy the teaser trailer and some of the recently released teaser posters (and they all look equally fierce).

Guest Movie Review - The Hobbit : The Desolation Of Smaug

The Hobbit The Desolation Of Smaug
How can we don't get a guest post for The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug? Here come another guest review by my friend, Ben.

Minor spoiler is spotted so if you have not watched the movie, enter with care ;-)

In many ways the movie [The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug] (DS) is very similar to the recent movie [The Hunger Games: Catching Fire] (CF).

- Both were big screen adaption of a famous book, even the demographics for the books were similar, Hobbit was a children book (yes it is) while Hunger Games targeted late teens
- Both were the middle of an epic trilogy/ quadrilogy
- Both were amazingly long, clocking more than 2 and half hours of screen time
- Both started and ended abruptly, “gently” reminding of the next movie instalment

But where both draw from the source materials were also their biggest differences. CF had to squeeze an entire book in a movie, whereas DS was to spread a very thin book into 3 long movies. And those differences have shown.

DS was way too long, throwing in subplots and plot threads to drag an otherwise simple story: Continuing where we left in [The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey], the dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, continue their quest to reclaim Erebor, their homeland. This kinda made those eagles in the last movie assholes as they didn’t fly the pack to the nearby mountain.

So how do you add length into a linear movie? Director Peter Jackson brought back fans-favourite elf, Legolas, which didn’t appear in the book, and CREATED a new female elf, Tauriel. Officially Director Jackson said he wanted to give a feminise role in the all macho male characters, personally I felt it was to have an unwarranted love triangle among Tauriel, Legolas and dwarf Kili, and thereby further lengthen the movie. The affection was definitely senseless especially when Tauriel left Legolas to fend for himself so that she could take care of Kili. That’s so forced and out of character.

In addition, I felt the writer simply made up Gandalf’s magical power as and when the plot required. “oh made Gandalf super powerful when dealing with the apparition of Sauron, oh he needed to fight common orcs or trolls? Just used the sword”

Another comment I had was Director Jackson fond of keeping the dwarfs alive, every single one of them! The last movie we already had every one survived all the mishaps with no even a scratch, this time the dwarfs simply outdone themselves by getting through tasks after tasks with lives more than those of the cat. And they were repeating showing the “you wouldn’t be hurt by blazing fire as long you were behind a pillar” cliché. You have THIRETEEN dwarfs; it is ok to kill off a few!

The overly emphasis on action also saw character development taken a major backseat. Towards the end of the last Hobbit, we saw the warming up to Bilbo by Thorin. However in DS, despite Bilbo saving the dwarfs’ asses in every single turn, Thorin simply treated him like another disposable pawn.

How did the supposed plan worked again? Bilbo was supposed to sneak in to steal the Arkenstone from Smaug the Dragon, so that Thorin could use the stone to unite all dwarfs to go back and killed the dragon? (no spoilers here, this was explained in the first movie) Hmm… but didn’t Smaug literally destroyed the then united dwarfs’ kingdom? How would the new troop stand a better chance? Also this had got to be one of the most predictable ending for the antagonist, as I dared anyone walking out of DS not figuring out how Smaug would die in the next movie, straight down to by whom and where.

Now here’s the good part – technically DS is impeccable, if a movie is judged based on the action and effects, DS would have easily taken the Best Picture honour! The sets were magnificent, the actions well-choreographed and the scenes breathe taking.

Special mention goes to the CGI effect of Smaug the dragon. This was simply the best rendition of the mystical animal with top notch voice acting making the 20 minutes of so scenes with Bilbo so much enjoyable and yet menacing at the same time.

Advice: watch DS in all those cinemas with the new-age technologies, be it the IMAX, HFR or Dolby Atmos system, and its only ONE 3D movie this, [The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug] is the one.

Oh there is no teaser in the ending credits so you can head out, presumably to the nearest toilet after a 3 hours movie and Director Jackson appeared as cameo as the very first face figure shown.

Cheers!

Edge Of Tomorrow - The Badass Trailer With Groundhog Day Concept

Edge Of Tomorrow
Yesterday, I just posted the movie poster and movie stills from Edge Of Tomorrow. Today, the very first trailer is already here! So, I can't wait to share it here again.

This upcoming sci-fi of Tom Cruise looks like a groundhog day movie set in the future, just imagine you live and die everyday repeatedly, but along the way, you learnt something new and try to make correction/improvement with every repeats. Of course this is not something new but the trailer do provide some kind of assurance that it would be a promising movie. To the minimal, it would be better than Tom Cruise's last sci-fi, Oblivion.

Edge Of Tomorrow will be released in cinemas on 6th June 2014, in 3D as well.

Now, enjoy the fresh trailer below:

Gadzilla - The First Trailer That Looks Badass!

Godzilla 2014
Finally, the first trailer of the upcoming Godzilla reboot is here!

15 years after the last remake (Godzilla 1988), of which I quite like it. Next year, we are going to face the same beast with a different stroke from new director (Gareth Edwards) and new casts (Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston). By the way, Bryan Cranston is the famous Walter White from the popular Breaking Bad TV series.

Short synopsis of Godzilla (source: imdb.com):

A giant radioactive monster called Godzilla appears to wreak destruction on mankind.

Godzilla will hits the big screen on 16th May 2014 (available in IMAX and IMAX 3D too).

Pompeii - New Trailer With Maximum Destruction (Feb 2014)

pompeii
Pompeii, the upcoming historical disaster movie, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson has been released with a new trailer. The finale scene of erupting volcano looks epic. It looks set to be a sad ending movie.

Starring Kit Harrington, Carrie-Ann Moss and Emily Browning, it will be released on 21st February 2014 (in 3D). Before watching the latest trailer, take a look on the synopsis of the movie here (source : GeekTyrant.com):

It’s late summer in 79 A.D. and the city of Pompeii glitters at the foot of the mighty Mt. Vesuvius. MILO, the slave of a shipping tycoon, dreams of the day he will buy his freedom and marry his master’s daughter, COLUMBA. What he doesn’t know is that Columba’s debt-ridden father has promised Columba to a despicable Roman Senator to pay off an overdue loan.

Milo does know that his friend, the Gladiator NIGELLUS, is being forced to compete the next day in a seemingly unwinnable battle in the Coliseum. As Milo tries to find a way to save his friend, he learns that Columba has been promised to another man and that he himself has been sold to a new master. Just as it seems things can’t get any worse, Mt. Vesuvius suddenly explodes with the power of 40 nuclear bombs, sending a torrent of 1,000-degree ash and smoke into the city. Lava flows down the mountainside, killing thousands. As Pompeii crumbles, Nigellus is imprisoned inside the Coliseum, Columba is locked inside her family’s villa, and Milo is trapped aboard a ship bound for Naples.

As the people of Pompeii flee the obliterated city, Milo is determined to return to it to save his friend and his beloved Columba. With fire and ash destroying the only world he’s ever known, an ordinary man is tested to his breaking point in this heart-pounding tale of extraordinary heroism.

Hercules : The Legend Begins - New Trailer (Jan 2014)

Hercules The Legend Begins
One (of the two) upcoming Hercules remake, Hercules - The Legend Begins has another new trailer. For whatever reason, this latest trailer just doesn't appeal to me that much (maybe after 300, all other such period movies are not as attractive anymore). Oh, by the way, 300 has a sequel coming up in 2014 too.

Hercules - The Legend Begins will hit the big screen on 10th January 2014 (in 3D) and following is the synopsis (source : GeekTyrant.com):

But this prince, Hercules, knows nothing of his real identity or his destiny. He desires only one thing: the love of Hebe, Princess of Crete, who has been promised to his own brother.

When Hercules learns of his greater purpose, he must choose: to flee with his true love or to fulfill his destiny and become the true hero of his time. The story behind one of the greatest myths is revealed in this action-packed epic - a tale of love, sacrifice and the strength of the human spirit.

ROBOCOP - Latest International Trailer (Feb 2014)

Robocop
Robocop is one of the long overdue reboot that I am looking forward to in 2014. Directed by José Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman (as Robocop), Gary Oldman Michael Keaton and Abbie Cornish. Following is the synopsis of Robocop :

In 2028 Detroit, when Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) - a loving husband, father and good cop - is critically injured in the line of duty, the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer.

47 Ronin - 2 Cool Clips (Dec 2013)

47 Ronin
47 Ronin, one of my most anticipated movie in December. It is not because of Keanu Reeves or the Samurai theme but it is the awesome special effects that caught my eyes so far.

Of course, I do hope that Keanu Reeves can make a come back with this movie (just like Sandra Bullock came back to A-list category with the hugely popular Gravity). Hmmmm... what a coincident, they both were in the movie "Speed" which shoot them into stardom. By the way, that was like almost 20 years ago.

47 Ronin will be in cinemas on 25th December 2013 (2D and 3D) and here is the synopsis (source : GeekTyrant):

After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.

As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

Recently, Universal Pictures has released 2 clips which are awesome! Keep reading for the clips.

Noah - Great first poster and trailer (Mar 2014)

Noah
Noah, the biblical figure/story retold in big budgeted blockbuster movie. Whether you are Christian or not, I believed you know what is the story about. I believed this movie adaptation would not too far off in terms of its story line but more cool special effect is expected.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky (who last brought us the Black Swan by Natalie Portman) and starring Russell Crowe (as Noah), Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson and Anthony Hopkins. Short synopsis of the movie (source : GeekTyrant) :

The movie tells the epic biblical story of a prophet who is "subject to divine visions foretelling the end of the world. Noah attempts to tell his people to cease their mistreatment of the earth in order to be saved. No one listens to his warnings, and Noah and his family are cast out to fend for themselves in the wilderness. Noah approaches a race of giant six-armed angels known as the Watchers to rally them to his cause."

Ender's Game - Movie Review

enders game
My friend, Ben is here once again to provide his frank movie review. This time round, he is reviewing the Ender's Game (movie adaptation from Orson Scott Card's novel with the same title).

There is no spoiler in the movie review. In fact, this is one of the most spoiler-less movie review that I've ever seen.

Now, enjoy his review below:

Imagine going for multi courses dinner, the starters were good, so was the following salads and soups, main course packed a punch and even the supposing surprise dessert was within expectation but still well done. Now came the closing coffee, Oh My, that's the worst tasting cup of coffee. While the coffee shouldn't overshadow the previous dishes, it left a bad aftertaste of the whole meal.

That's was how I felt about Ender's Game. The first 95% was done quite well, but the after war 5% was simply horrendous, which nearly tanked the whole movie. The "WTF" moments kept coming, and those were bad WTF.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like Ender's Game, for anything else, it explained that one point in all those "The One heading for training and will save everyone" stories - why did all the seniors and instructors kept elevating the status of The One. They should have known that by doing will lead to downright resentment from the entire school. Take a look at Harry Potter and Percy Jackson or the likes, if that happened in real life, the lead protagonist would have been bullied to death in the school.

So for that, i will give this 4 our of 5 stars. Even though I found the pace on fast forward all the time, and would really benefit if they split into 2 or more movies.

Have you seen Ender's Game? What is your review?

Cheers!

The LEGO Movie
If you like LEGO, you will sure to fall in love with this upcoming movie. If you are not, you might still love it as much. The LEGO Movie, a massive animation project made purely from LEGO bricks. This much anticipated movie kicked off since Apr 2012 and will be released in the big screen in 3D on 6th Feb 2014.

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (from "21 Jump Street" and "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" fame). It stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, and Morgan Freeman. Synopsis of the movie (source : GeekTyrant) :

Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Recently, Warner Brothers has released the cool trailer and 5 character posters. If you've watched the trailer, I think you will agree with me that it will be a fun ride.

Maleficent - The First Poster (May 2014)

maleficent
Maleficent, the iconic villain from the Sleeping Beauty will be retold from another another perspective. This Disney project, starring Angelina Jolie as the titular role will be in cinemas only in May 2014 but the just released first poster looks enticingly creepy.

Directed by Robert Stromberg (first time director but involved in many well known projects like Life of Pi, The Hunger Games etc. from visual effect perspective). Besides Angelina Jolie, other casts include Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton and Juno Temple.

Synopsis of Maleficent :

A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Movie Review - Thor : The Dark World (Spoiler-Free)

Thor The Dark World
Finally, managed to catch the talk of the town movie at the moment, Thor - The Dark World. I must say that this is rare case scenario whereby sequel is better than the original. Maybe watching in IMAX 3D does add a little spice to my movie experience ;-)

Overall, I give this highly entertaining sequel 4.5 stars (out of 5 stars). Even though the plot is at bit messy at times and the villain, Malekith is not as powerful or deadly as I hope it to be but overall it is still a great blockbuster which worth the premium ticket.

If there is any complain that I would have it is the screen time of Loki, his screen time is lesser than I expected but every scene that he is in, he just steal the limelight with his wittiness and cold stares.

By the way, if you have not watch the movie, please do take note that there are TWO after credits scene..first one probably lead us to Marvel's next year project, Guardians Of The Galaxy and the second one is just to satisfy fans that there will be more Thor coming soon as the ending sentence is "Thor Will Be Back" ;-)

Hope you manage to catch the show and share with us your review too.

Cheers!

47 Ronin - Yet Another Awesome Trailer (Dec 2013)

47 Ronin
After watching this latest trailer, I really really looking forward to watch 47 Ronin, probably in 3D. Yes, this is a remake but who cares? As long as there is good story line and mouth watering special effect..

Directed by Carl Rinsch, starring Keanu Reeve , Hiroyuki Sanada and Kô Shibasaki. I hope this movie can re-establish Keanu's filming career. Synopsis of 47 Ronin (source: GeekTyrant.com):

The troupe of banished samurai long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (played by Asano, who is in theaters now as Hogun in Thor) who was responsible for the death of their master. Kai is the uneasy compatriot in their company and his standing will be questioned even more as he falls in love with Mika (Shibasaki), daughter of the fallen master. The film presents a quest where the ronin (the term for samurai with no master) face trials that test their mettle and their loyalty to one another.

The movie will be in theatres on the Christmas Day, in 3D. Now, enjoy the kick ass trailer below:

The Hunger Games - Catching Fire : Latest Trailer (Nov 2013)

The Hunger Games Catching fire
To all The Hunger Games novel or movie fans, this is possibly the last trailer from the upcoming sequel, The Hunger Games - Catching Fire. I also think that this is the most impressive trailer among all.

All the main casts like Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth are reprising in the sequel but with different directorship from Francis Lawrence, I hope this will be a new level of games (pun intended).

Synopsis of The Hunger Games - Catching Fire :

Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

The movie will be released in big screens on 22nd Nov 2013.

Trailer from Mr Peabody And Sherman (Mar 2014)

Mr Peabody and Sherman
The title of this upcoming 3D animation, Mr Peabody And Sherman might not ring a bell for the young kids nowadays, but if you are slightly older (ok, maybe much older), you will know that these characters are spin off from the Rocky and Bullwinkle, popular cartoon series in the 60s.

In any case, Dreamworks Animation has just released the very first trailer of this 2014 reboot and it looks kind of fun. Short synopsis of the movie:

Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine—the Wabac—to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes the Wabac out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidentally rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history.

Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era: figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time-travelling trio will make their mark on history.

Tarzan - Full Trailer Of The Upcoming CG Animation Reboot (2014)

tarzan 3d
Tarzan has been adapted into many TV series (cartoon or mini-series) or movies (animation or featured films) and I believed it will continue to spin into reboot, remake, prequel or sequel in the future.

In fact, soon, there will be another adaptation in 3D animation format and it simply called TARZAN. Recently, Constantin Film Production has released the full-length trailer of this CG animation. To be frank, the trailer doesn't seems to wow me (maybe kids will like it more).

Short synopsis of Tarzan:

Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan's parents, after they died in a plane crash.

It is still not clear when will Tarzan be released in the big screens. Meanwhile, enjoy the trailer below.

47 Ronin - The Latest Japanese Posters and Trailer (Dec 2013)

Here come another set of new posters and trailer from upcoming fantasy action thriller from Keanu Reeves, 47 Ronin. This time round, it is from Japan, where the movie is based upon.

I have good feeling about this movie. No, it's not because Keanue Reeves is in it. It is because I quite like the story of Ninja blending with mythical creatures (like there is a scene in the trailer whereby Rinko Kikuchi [Mizuki] morph into a fierce dragon).

Now, with the two new stunning movie posters and a spectacular trailer from Japan, I think I will pay the premium to watch it in 3D coming December.

47 Ronin will be released internationally on the Christmas Day. Following is the short synopsis of the movie (source; GekkTyrant.com):

The troupe of banished samurai long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (played by Asano, who is in theaters now as Hogun in Thor) who was responsible for the death of their master. Kai is the uneasy compatriot in their company and his standing will be questioned even more as he falls in love with Mika (Shibasaki), daughter of the fallen master. The film presents a quest where the ronin (the term for samurai with no master) face trials that test their mettle and their loyalty to one another.

Disney's Frozen - The Latest Trailer (Nov 2013)

frozen animation
Disney's Frozen is starting to get into the driver seat in their marketing drive. The latest trailer that I am about to share seems to contain all the ingredients of a successful animation i.e. the magical theme story line  (adventure of a sister finding her sister who has icy power), the funny sidekick (Olaf the snowman) and the action-packed sequence with mythical creature (in the form of blizzard in this case).

As per my earlier post, I don't really like the poster and teaser trailer when it first released but now I have changed my view (for the better).

Frozen will be released on 27th Nov 2013 in 3D and following is the synopsis of Frozen:

When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna ( Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Weekly Box Office Movies in US (Ending 2013/10/20)

gravity
Here are the TOP 5 Movies from US for the week ending 20th Oct 2013 (Sun).

Wow! This week's box office result might be something that even the film distributor for Gravity didn't expect. Gravity is having the strongest holding power in its third week, by only dropping 28% from previous week. That explains why it tops the chart for the third time with $31 millions. It look set to become one of the most successful non-holiday film.

Captain Phillips (Tom Hanks) did pretty well on its second week as well at second spot. Same thing cannot be said for the other 3 new releases though. The horror remake, Carrie  (Chloë Grace Moretz) managed to stay at third spot only with under-performing figure of $17 millions. The Escape Plan (action thriller from Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger) did poorer with mere $9.8 millions. The worst release is The Fifth Estate (Benedict Cumberbatch) making miserable $1.7 millions on its first week (not in the top five movies).

Now, enjoy the chart...

Mr Peabody & Sherman - 6 Photos From The Upcoming Dreamworks Animation (Mar 2014)

mr peabody and sherman
The upcoming Dreamworks Animation, Mr. Peabody & Sherman is based on Jay Ward's classic cartoon. Directed by Rob Minkoff (whom brought us Stuart Little films [1999 and 2002] and The Forbidden Kingdom [2008]). The story centers on Mr. Peabody, who is the world's smartest dog, and his pet boy, Sherman.

I haven't seen any of the cartoon (or maybe I have but have forgotten). In any case, Dreamworks has just released 6 official photos from the movie and it looks like a mix of time travel and mummy adventure. Following is the official synopsis from imdb.com :

Using his most ingenious invention, the WABAC machine, Mr. Peabody and his adopted boy Sherman hurtle back in time to experience world-changing events first-hand and interact with some of the greatest characters of all time. They find themselves in a race to repair history and save the future.

Oh! So Stan Lee Actually Don't Like 3D Movies!?

Stan Lee
If you are a Marvel Comics fan, I am sure you know who is Stan Lee. If you are not, basically, he is a comic book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor, voice actor and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. I believed you got the point on how powerful he is in the comic/movie industry.

Recently, he shared a video of him ranting about 3D Movies and I find it quite hilarious and thus thought to share it out here just for a laugh. I personally view that it is just for publicity sake and he don't really hate 3D movies.

By the way, Stan Lee is already 90 years old and his rant/voice is still so energetic and powerful!

Now, enjoy the funny video below...

The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug : The New Awesome Banner (Dec 2013)

the hobbit the desolation of smaug
The second installment of the prequel, The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug is a MUST WATCH December movie for many. As per the tradition, the movie will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D and I am very looking forward to it to see how Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and gang defying all odds and fulfil their destiny (Ok, I admit! I did not read any of the books).

Warner Bros has just released an awesome story banner featuring most of the main characters. Before checking out the banner, take a quick look at the synopsis below:

The film continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the Company continues East, encountering along the way the skin-changer Beorn and a swarm of giant Spiders in the treacherous Mirkwood Forest.

To be specific, The Hobbit - The Desolation Of Smaug will be released internationally on 13th December 2013. Now, enjoy the story banner below...

Big Ass Spider - A 3D Movie That You Might Not Know Exists (Oct 2013)

Kick Ass Spider Poster
Granted, this particular movie title would not ring a bell to you and might not ring any bell even in the future. It is actually one of the SXSW 2013 films and will only in limited screening this month in USA. The movie will be released in DVD in Jan 2014.

Since they are limited upcoming 3D movies to blog about, Big Ass Spider is one of the rare sci-fi that fit the lull period of October month. Actually, after watching the trailer, it is not as bad as the movie title. Of course, don't expect a fully developed characters and plot from the movie! ;-)

Short synopsis of Big Ass Spider:

A giant alien spider escapes from a military lab and rampage the city of Los Angeles. When a massive military strike fails, it is up to a team of scientists and one clever exterminator to kill the creature before the city is destroyed.

I am not sure whether the movie will be released in other countries but it could likely to be one of the straight-to-DVD kind of movie.

Now, enjoy the trailer below....
